This stunning site in Ballyglass, Four Mile House, is situated on a hill with sweeping views across the countryside. A local character study revealed that the area predominantly features single-storey homes, with the traditional long farmhouse being the most common typology. To harmonise with the landscape and honor the area's rural heritage, the design presents as two contemporary interpretations of the long farmhouse from the roadside. One of these forms is intentionally angled off-axis, orienting it toward the distant hilltop view. The resulting V-shaped layout creates a sense of compression at the entrance, which opens up dramatically as you pass through the stone wall, revealing a spacious interior and expansive countryside vistas beyond.
