1930s Cottage Restoration

Site Location: Longford, Ireland

Project Type: Restoration & Extension

Stage: Planning Application

This beautifully crafted stone cottage was constructed in the 1930s. The design brief was to restore the original character and charm of the cottage whilst providing additional living space to bring this cottage up to 21st century living standards. The extension is separated by a flat roof to provide clear delineation between proposed and existing. Light brick work was chosen for the cladding of the new construction to contrast the darker stone and not detract from the cottage. The extension provides large openings and a gable end feature window to let in an abundance of natural light.
