This existing cottage provided limited living space, the clients brief was to design an extension that provided an open plan living space with a contemporary architectural style to contrast the existing cottage. The mono-pitch roof was designed to allow light to access the existing dormer window, whilst drawing your eye towards the view of the garden once you enter the space. To respond to the local area and provide a contrasting material to the existing rendered cottage Roscommon Limestone was chosen for the exterior cladding.
